Happy Father's Day

I know, I know...Father's day really isn't until June something, but today Ollie and I gave Matt the gift of quality time at Hanging Rock. Matt loves to spend his Sundays out in the woods somewhere and today we decided to join him. Now, you may or may not know this about me but I am actually kinda a wimp about this kind of stuff. I'm not really one for the outdoors unless it involves a pool, sailboat or a good book on a blanket in the sun. In fact Matt and I have tried to go hiking many times together over the years , but I almost always end up complaining more than enjoying...I know, wimp! But I think I realized this morning that this is the beginning of so many fun outdoor adventures that Matt and Ollie will take together and I can either sit at home and pout about not enjoying hiking or I can bundle up, strap on my pack and go be with the two men I love more than anything in this world. Ollie is underneath his blue hoodie, burr!

We (all three of us) had a great time and I'm not even sore, yet! There's just something magical about the mountains for us. I've always dreamed of living on the side of one, one day...letting our kids run barefoot through the fields...but that's another post for another day.

41 cents

This blog post is brought to you by Jesus....yahoo for snow days!

So I am taking a short break in my posting about Ollie to let you hear a ramble that's been happening in my crazy little brain lately. I was just reflecting the other day that I miss Christmas...not the hustle and bustle, whew, that was a lot to handle this year, but I miss the mail...Christmas cards people! It's one of my favorite parts of Christmas coming home every afternoon sorting through the mail and opening all of our friends sweet Christmas cards. I love seeing how our friends, their babies, their dogs, have grown over the year. After Christmas is over I change all the pictures on our fridge from old to new, so we can enjoy the cards or the photos all year long.

I guess what I'm saying is I like getting old fashioned mail, it seems like all the mail we get other than the month of December is junk, bills and the occasional YL support letter. I have this one friend who writes the best
thank you notes, I even thought about giving her a gift, just so I could receive a real letter in the mail. I want my friends and family to know that today, well everyday, I think you are worth 41 cents, it's just a matter of sitting down and doing it, so maybe I'm making this a new years resolution 17 days late, to reflect, to appreciate and to write.

The haps, people!

We had a pretty chill weekend in the 'Boro. It all started with the little pirate storming around the house with his Jolly Roger doo rag on. Seriously, he left this thing on for about an hour.Where's my motorcycle??
Later on, Ollie decided to clean out my purse, he's getting really good at this. Just this morning he found two Hershey kisses and ate half of one of them and some of the foil all before 7 am.
Introducing Isabella LeChat, the cat lady, and Rev. Rightman...we were part of a murder mystery dinner Saturday night for my friend Melissa's 30th b-day. It was fun! We survived the night without being murder or being accused of doing such.
Then on Sunday our small group went out to Julian to hang out with the Nobles. Here's Josiah (10 weeks I think) and Ollie in their matching red footy p.j's and raccoon hats.
