dream a little dream

Today I had the day off...I'm on spring break you see. Ollie went into school for a little while so I could get some major stuff done around here. You may or may not know this about me but one day I dream of owning my own bed and breakfast. I don't think I've ever posted about a part of our house, but I have been inspired by a sister of a friend of a friend...yeah did you get that? She often blogs about the beauty of her house. I have to say that this room is the only room I can safely blog about...the guest bedroom.
Here is the view when you walk in...today to me it is breathtaking, if I don't say so myself.
Yes, those are dark chocolates in the towel basket, and yes the bed is already turned down for a good nights rest.
Here are some goodies for you to pamper yourself.
The Inn at 1810 is always open. Hey the price is right, the food is fair...plenty of cheerios and the company well, always Hannam. Come to think of it maybe Matt and I'll stay there tonight...is that allowed?

Happy Easter!

"He is not here; He is risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay." Matthew 28:6

Happy Easter everyone! What a great weekend to spend time with family and friends. Here is our sweet little Ollie on his first real Easter egg hunt. He got excited about 3 of the 25 eggs we hid, better luck next time. I hope you are remembering and feeling the joy of Christ's resurrection and love today...He is risen, He is risen indeed.

Sunday afternoon...

Whew, we've had the stomach bug around our house for the past week. I pray that you and in your family stay clear of this thing. I do believe (knock on something) we're on the mend. I finally found a cute birthday pic of Ollister at small group the day before his birthday, sorry I look a little bit tired or something. The next pic is of bath time one night last week we have these cute stick on bath letters and my sunglasses just happened to be in the bathroom, you know couldn't resist. And the bottom two are at the playground in our neighborhood, a place we have begun to frequent and Ollie is growing to love. I think I always had to stop at pretty much all playgrounds when I was little, like mommy like son.

I've got one more week of school then it's spring break, woo hoo. Ollie and I are headed to Charleston to visit the fam and then Matt and I are headed on a birthday adventure somewhere down south at the coast while Olls hangs out with the gramps.

Uncle Ben and lemons

Ollie here!
Last week my Uncle Ben came to visit and he let me try his lemon. Guess what...I liked that thing!
Would you like to try my lemon?
Hmm...what can I get into next? Thanks for the lemon, Uncle Ben!

I've been tagged...

My friend Millie recently tagged me in one of her posts. I think this means that I am supposed to tell you the blogging world 7 strange or weird things about me. It's weird to confess some of these but here goes:

  1. I have two fake teeth, yep, my I-teeth (sp.) came in as babies but never grew up to be adults. Next time you're around you should look real close to my gums, those two teeth are not connected. They are however permanent marilyn bridges, coincidentally my brother is missing the same exact two teeth.
  2. I LOVE to dance! I mean real going to the clubs, shake it like a Polaroid picture dance. My dad and I started shagging when I was just big enough to walk, I guess that's when it all started. If a rap song comes on in the car and I feel close enough to you I will just let loose.
  3. I like to put a dab of mayo in my chili, yep, once again you have to be like family to see this happen b/c I am almost always embarrassed to do this, but it is so yum. My uncle started me on this.
  4. I was in beauty pageants when I was in high school, somewhere in Hollywood, SC there are a lot of blackmailing video tapes.
  5. I can do a pretty decent English accent. My kids at school call it my "Harry Potter" voice. I hope Ollie learns to appreciate the Brittish Mum he has one day.
  6. I like the way weird things smell: toe jam, ear wax, gasoline, dead skunks, and rubber cement.
  7. And the big one, don't tell anyone or turn me into the police: I secretly have always wanted to steal something, yikes, I said it. My friends have always wanted to set this up for me, but alas it has not happened. When I go into a store I often find myself thinking, man I could steal that so easily, but I have not done it and I'm really not sure if I really ever would do it.
So there you have it, Mom, if you are reading this and some of it is a surprise, I know you'll still love me. I choose to tag: Melissa, Carla, Joylynn, Jenny, Sarah and Matty of course.

Snapshots of our ONE year old!

So we celebrated Ollister's 1st birthday this past week, I wish I had some cute birthday pics but here are a few highlights from this week. Ollie's 1st taste of mommy's homemade lasagna, he had three Ollie size helpings. He has gotten so much better at eating "big boy " food, which makes our lives so much easier.Yum!
We went to Oriental this past weekend, to hang out on the boat with some friends. Here is the big boy loving swinging on the swings, woo hoo!
Family Photo!
New tricks include: sharing snacks, blowing kisses, waving bye bye like crazy, being cute (well he's been working on that one for a while) and the big news... we saw him walk 5 or so steps on his own several times this weekend.
