Weighing in...

Day before Ollie was born, Feb. 2007! He weighed 8 lbs even...

Day before baby_____ is born, this photo taken mere moments ago...Take a guess, how much do you think this child will weigh??? My face looks a little more tired and puffy this time...maybe because I am...but getting so excited! The grandparents have all just arrived.

What is that blue plastic thing??? Well, just a way to distract a 3 year old and give mom some faint contractions, woo hoo! Actually its a diaper dekor refill that was too small, got it at a consignment store a few weeks ago..oh well. Yes it is filled with air from a hair dryer and yes it has a plastic ball in it and yes that's the game you roll the ball back and forth in the plastic!

So here's the plan...it got a bit updated on Friday when I had my final checkup...not going in tonight...I'm a bit more progressed then what my doctor thought, thank goodness. So Matt and I are scheduled to arrive at Women's Hospital tomorrow morning at 5:15 am and I will get started on Pitocin and get the party started...I am sure Matt will give you plenty of updates. We appreciate your prayers tonight for rest and tomorrow for the "birth" day, this time tomorrow we might just might be a family of four...but that might be wishful thinking!

Stay tuned........

the update...

We've been reading a lot of this book lately in preparation for fun and wiggly things to come! I had a dr's appt yesterday so here is the 411 on the happenings on Efland Drive.

My blood pressure went up...not so good news, not way up but up and because of my history with Ollie there were many scenerios and plans tossed out yesterday afternoon. So they are running some tests blood work, urine work (yuck, sorry) and then based on those results if abnormal we could be looking at an induction tomorrow morning (Ollie's 3rd birthday.) But if everything is normal which we pray it is, then I will just hang out and either go into labor on my own in the next few days or for sure be checked into the hospital on Sunday night for a scheduled induction at 39 weeks. So either way new baby brother or sister will be here by the time the blessed birthday month of March rolls in.

We did have another ultrasound...the weight prediction at this point is somewhere around 8 lbs 8 oz...so it's going to be a nice size baby which we are all getting super excited about meeting! Matt promises, as you've seen already to keep the blog updates coming. Thanks for your excitement and prayers, we appreciate it!

Did you know...

...that he was an art minor in college???
This was the scene at our house a few weeks ago...paper mache!!! It was one of those nights when we all had cabin fever because of all the snow. My Matty whipped out the supplies and invited Ollie to join in the fun. Please note that I was the photographer and thoroughly enjoyed watching the action, as it was actually my first paper mache experience...yes I teach 2nd grade!
He is so creative and we love him. He will also be granted permission to take over this blog when it's go time...so get ready!

Christmas...

So I've been reflecting a good bit these days...trying to remember the days of having a newborn in the house. Back then our lives were consumed (or so it seemed) with feedings, nap schedules, breastpumps, weight gain, gas drops, ounces, swings vs. cribs, etc. Here we are 2 + years later and we're more about snack time, chocolate milk, family days, playgrounds, the Science Center, time out, and playing and learning with friends.

Life with a newborn was hard, quite honestly it rocked our world in a lot of ways. But no matter the adventures throughout the day and into the wee hours of the night ...every day felt like Christmas to us. There was nothing like walking into that sweet new baby boy's room over and over again and taking him out of his crib to kiss his sweet cheeks and thank Jesus for the special gift that He gave us.

In thinking about writing this post it reminded me to still rejoice in the everyday moments of being a parent, we have much to celebrate. We love the joy and fun that Ollie brings to our days and look forward to seeing him learn to love his baby brother or sister.

Life is about to change for us...all of us...Christmas is coming again real soon!
Baby update in stats: 37 weeks 2 days pregnant, 1 cm dilated, contractions here and there but nothing consistent, another ultrasound scheduled for next Tuesday to check the baby's weight and then we'll talk about a plan with our doc. Thanks for caring about all these Hannams!

Almost 3!

We celebrated Ollie's 3rd birthday this weekend a bit early...just in case we're celebrating another birthday very close or on the same day as his real birthday! Ollie and his friends met at the Natural Science Center, his favorite spot in town! Ollie all of a sudden is really into spiderman, not sure why...but we found some spiderman stuff at Walmart and Grandma brought some yummy cupcakes. It was a fun time!
Can't believe my little pirate is almost 3 years old!

Snowy Days

Day 1

It was burr cold, still fr-drizzling, snowing, etc. We ventured out for a brief walk around the block. Only the back two wheels of the red wagon were touching the ground. Snow, snow, snow! Oh and major props to the USPS, yes that is our mail carrier trudging through the white stuff!
Day 2

The sun came out! Ollie was much more into the white stuff yesterday. Made lots of snow angels...licked lots of white snow, took down the biggest icicle I've ever seen. We all had cabin fever so we ventured over to Bravo to shovel some snow and check things out.
Favorite pic...actually took it on accident, but love my half snow angel!

Day 3...snow day today! Enjoying this time off to rest, clean, sort and organize and play with my little Olls...I am getting my nesting on like crazy! 35 days till d-day!
