Our 15th month old Ollie...

...can drink out of a straw, a nice new trick, especially when the beverage comes from his fav. fast food restaraunt, Chik fil a.
...can help his grandaddy clean the pool, check the new boardshorts, thanks Anna Cate, I don't care for the hat too much but the shorts rock!
...can drive a car, well not really but he loves to sit behind the wheel and honk the horn and push all the buttons.
...can have an opinion, enough said (yes, that is peanut butter.)

Strawberries!!!

We went to Rudd farm to pick strawberries on Saturday morning after our Saturday morning breakfast at Golden Corral (yikes, I know...we had a bogo coupon, it actually was really yummy.) I was really surprised how much Ollie enjoyed being a strawberry picker. He knew right what to do: pick a few and have a taste test to make sure they were ok (which they were,) then put some in the basket. He is a great helper.
There were strawberries and strawberry pickers all over the place, one kid was even having his birthday party there.
Hard at work!

Our little family, with our big basket of strawberries, all for $5.25. Let's go again next Saturday!

I love Saturdays!

Hey friends, Ollie here, I just love these things called Saturdays. I get to sleep late and go to breakfast with mommy and daddy. This Saturday daddy let me help build our new pantry, I love hammers almost as much as Saturdays. Then mommy and I played outside with the water hose for a long time, it was so much fun. I got soaked, I can't wait for summer (neither can my mommy.)

letter for you

Dear Ollie,
Today we celebrate my 2nd mother's day. Do you know how much your mommy and daddy love you? I wouldn't be a mommy if you weren't part of our family. You have grown so much in the past 14 1/2 months. I love your sweet smile and the way you run to me when I come pick you up at school everyday. I love your curiousity about any and every little thing. I love the way you care about your friends in your class and how you always say "hi" when were out to new people you meet. I love the way you listen to directions and help pull the clothes out of the dryer. I love that you play hard and sleep well when your adventures are over. I love that you still want me to hold you and snuggle every night before bed. I love that you love cheese just as much as me. You have brought me so much joy! I love being YOUR mommy!
Thank you Jesus for picking me,
Ollie's mommy

Adventures in Mrs. Hannamhood

It's teacher appreciation week this week. And since I am one of your local teachers I thought I would let you into the world that is Whitney Hannam from 7:30 am to 3:00 pm everyday.
Here are some of my kids and my student teacher Erica. She is the bomb, unfortunately she is finished with student teaching and I've been back to the real world of reality this week. She came in on Tuesday morning with the most beatiful cookie cake, flowers and home made scrapbook that my kids had made telling me how much they appreciated me, it was sweet!
Here are my other little darlings for a "serious pose."
And now for the funny pose! What a bunch, I'll miss them when they leave...in 24 days, but hey who's counting??!!
I try not to pick favorites, but today Miguel (rockin' the tie dye that says "Read a Palooza, for real.) He is so funny and says the funniest things. Today we made cards for the 3rd graders who are about to take the EOG's, his simply said "work hard kids!" I mean as if he was there boss or something. So here's to all the teachers out there...who work "hard for the kids, happy teacher appreciation week!

farmer's market, feet and first birthdays

Matt and I have started a new family tradition, family breakfast out on the town on Saturday mornings. This Saturday we went to the big farmer's market and ate at the Moose Cafe. The biscuits are HUGE and Ollie liked the apple butter. We picked up 3 flats of petunias and this marvelous hanging basket of cherry tomatoes. I counted 45 already, what a brilliant idea, summer salads here we come.
If the success of fun can be measured by the dirt on your feet at the end of the day, Ollie had a great Sunday. Please note that we hung out on the back porch and outside for about 3 hours. There was definately a ring around the tub tonight as we washed all the "fun" off.
We also got to celebrate the1st birthdays of Maddie and Anna Cate on Saturday afternoon. Here they are ready to enjoy their first taste of birthday cake, River was so excited to share this event with her favorite little girlies. And Ollie thinks everyone should have their birthday at the park! Happy Birthday Maddie Grace and Anna Cate, you're friend Ollie is ready to show you the ropes of toddlerhood!
