a little Q and A time...

Here are the details, as promised!

Q: When is your actual due date?
A: March 8, 2010, Ollie's was March 1, hmmmm. I am 13 weeks today!

Q: How have you been feeling?
A: Great now, but let me tell you weeks 6-10 were a doozie, getting sick every afternoon.

Q: Any hunches on a boy or girl?
A: I think its a girl, just because this time around has been really different, but Matt says its a boy again.

Q: Will you tell the names?
A: Sure, right now the girl name we are leaning to is Nancy Grace and the boy name is Larry King...we're actually looking into a sponsorship deal this time!

Q: When will you find out?
A: We are actually going to be surprised this time, so sometime around March 8th.

Q: Does Ollie know?
A: Hmm, good question...we've told him, the other day he lifted up my shirt and said he wanted to talk to the baby, he said, hi baby and then looked at me and said...the baby is grumpy! I've never heard him use that word before and truth be told, he might have just been talking about me. When I was pregnant with him I was a weeping willow, this time around I've been more like a ferocious beast, hormones, baby!

Q: Any cravings yet?
A: No, not really more aversions than cravings, I love to eat, so I am ready for that part of being pregnant to kick in.

Q: Will you let your 2nd graders measure the circumference of your belly again?
A: Most definitely!

Q: Are you excited?
A: So much, we've been praying for this sweet miracle for a while and covet your prayers as we continue on this journey!

Crazy!

Sorry for the lack of blogging these days...been busy around here! Ollie and I had a conversation this afternoon on the ride home from school that was so hilarious I just had to share, it went like this...

Me: Ollie we've got to stop by the grocery store and get some milk, we're all out.
Olls: Umm, maybe later this afternoon.
Me: No, sweetie we're gonna go right now, Mommy wants to get it over with.
Olls: Umm, it's too late (he says that now when he doesn't want to do something.)
Me: Sorry buddy, we've got to go.
Olls: I said NO! (really loud I might add)
Me: Ollie you are not the boss of me, I am the boss and we are going to the store.
Olls: No, I am the boss!
Me: No, I am the boss!
Olls: No, I am the boss!
Me: No, sweetie Mommy and Daddy are the boss.
Olls: Mom, you are crazy!

Call it what you must, but this kid says some funny things these days and we absolutely love it!

Linville...

You know how some days you just wake up and wish you were somewhere else doing something different, well Saturday was one of those days for us. It's been a topsy turvy few weeks around here, so Saturday we decided to hit the road and head to the mountains. Believe it our not this was Ollie's first trip to the mountains. Our car just naturally drives south and hardly ever north. But we found a creek to play in, a cute place to crash for the night, ate plenty of yummy food and even heard some live bluegrass.

We also hiked to Linville falls, quite an adventure for a two year old!
And just enjoyed being together as a family...finding rest and adventure in a new spot.

change...

...pulled this one out of the archives, Ollie was about 7 months old...his first season of fall.

Apparently I am sentimental about seasons. Remember back in winter when I blogged about my sentiments on spring? Well today I find myself looking forward to the changes that are bound to happen. I love freshly sharpened #2 pencils. I love walking out of my house first thing in the morning and the crisp cool air meets you at your first breath.

I love when my new crop of kids walk into school on the first day with their bags of brand new school supplies, an organizer I am not, but I love to separate and file all those precious goodies. I love when the leaves start to fall and when you walk you can hear them crunch under your feet. I love big fat pumpkins on your porch and picking out a mum or two at the farmer's market.

I love having a reason to splurge on apple cider and my mouth waters at the thought of it simmering right now in my kitchen. I love not needing the ac but going windows only, how refreshing. I love Halloween costumes and candy corn. I am excited about the changes the season of fall will bring.

I love embracing...change.

"Yet he has not left himself without testimony: He has shown kindness by giving you rain from heaven and crops in their seasons; he provides you with plenty of food and fills your heart with joy." Acts 14:17

Ollie hearts...

the water hose. It has been hot as the dickens (whatever that means) around here the past few days. This has become his favorite new toy...so easy...so simple...why didn't we think of this umm, 2 months ago.
He actually prefers to play in the buff, but I didn't want to get a little showy on my blog. I guess it's time for the official back to school count down...10 days until work days...15 till I meet my new crop of geniuses. We are trying to fill every little moment with a "splash" of summer fun, hope you are too!

I heart...

...the town where we live! I also heart date nights! It's been a whirlwind of a week around here, with family coming on Sunday and not leaving until this morning to help with the renovation of the new and improved Bravo. We are so thankful for all the help! We decided to take advantage of having a free babysitter last night and head out on the town...our town...the Boro!
We started the night at Grey's Tavern, the food was delicious and we walked right in and sat down which was quite different from the bar next door that had an hour wait. I would definitely go back!
Then we strolled in this cozy little alley across from Triad Stage...it is a date night goal to attend a play there by the end of 2009!
We stumbled upon this yummy place and devoured this peanut butter cheesecake, it was quite a bargain at only $2.50.

I heart date nights with my sweetie!
