The mountain of mercy...

"Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob. He will teach us his ways, so that we may walk in his paths." Micah 4:2
Matt and I just got back from a mini-vacation to Damascus, VA. This was the cabin that we rented. It was so peaceful and comfy. Ollie stayed with his grandparents, he had fun, they had fun and most importantly Matt and I reconnected, what a blessing to be with the one you love.
We went down the "Creeper Trail" which is this beautiful 17 mile trail that winds down the mountain. I love the way the air smells in the mountains, it reminds me of summer camp growing up. I wish I could bottle that smell and take it out on days when I need to be reminded of God's goodness.
Here's my sweetie, you can stop and have lunch at the Creeper Cafe. We did and had a slice of chocolate cake that was written up in Southern Living.

We highly recommend taking a break from the everyday life...its good for your mind, heart and soul. Today is our 6th anniversary...stay tuned for some pictures of our yearly events.

"Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from him." Ps. 62:5

Whit & Matt, that is a beautiful pic of you two. You look so content and happy. (Must have had a good night's rest!) Anyways we are so glad you got to go off and rediscover your love. It's imperative that couples do that from time to time. Maybe next time you can come our way and we can keep Ollie. We love your guys and keep loving HIM. Mom in C.

whitney! I definitely rode the Creeper with my dad when i was younger, how fun! except for the sections that were lacking pavement over trenches, which we still crossed. My dad, the Daredevil.

Hope you guys are well.
