It's nap time and while these 2 precious babes are sleeping I thought I would give you an update on the Hannam Four!
I've been thinking a lot lately on these days from 3 years ago! Whew, I would say that going from zero to one was much harder than one to two kids, but this time around it's harder and more fun in different ways. The hardest part I think for me thus far is timing. Timing feedings with pre-school, the park, the science center, basically anything that involves Ollie...and struggling to not feel as if I am giving him the shaft...that's been hard. But we're are all adjusting. Sarah Claire is still such a sweetie pie, she still has reflux the Zantac seems to be helping but she still spits up which sometimes feels like a personal failure to me, but I think I am learning that some babies just do that and she's ok...but still frustrating. She does take a paci now, the gerber nuk, but only if she's hungry and can't get what she really wants and it only lasts for about 2-3 minutes. I did get her to nap in the swing yesterday for about an hour, but that hasn't been that big of a deal b/c she really enjoys sleeping in her bed. Speaking of beds...we moved Ollie into the guest bedroom as of 2 weeks ago, into the big high off the ground queen size bed. So far so good...Sarah Claire moved into the crib... and everyone has their own space!
We've all enjoyed kissing these sweet cheeks...Ollie is a really sweet brother, I have loved watching him love on his little sister.
One thing that has been fun is Ollie has all of a sudden learned that he can play in the yard by himself, might sound funny but he hasn't really ever done it thus far. And play he does, which has helped with the whole what does he do thing while I am "playing" with SC. We won't be playing in this yard very much longer as our house is officially under contract. Most of the hurdles to be crossed in selling have been reached and we're set to close at the end of April, Lord willing. We're learning that selling a house is a marathon and not a sprint. We're not exactly sure where we will call home yet (yes still in Greensboro) we've got a couple irons in the fire but no contract on our end...hopefully in the next 2 weeks we will!
We've been blessed by so many friends and family who have fed us, prayed for us, and played with us over the past 4 weeks. My sincere apologies if you've texted, called or facebooked (is that a verb?) and I have not gotten back to you, hopefully I will soon. Ok, well I think that is most of the update...maybe if I'm lucky I can catch a few minutes of rest as well!

pieces of love...
When Ollie was about to be born we knew he was a he...so I commissioned my sweet friend Kristen to make his bumper and bed skirt and Matt's mom made his curtains, a pillow and a super sweet quilt. Well this time around we didn't know if we would be recycling the oh so cute sailboat stuff or if we would be "thinking pink."
Well thinking pink we are...I found these 4 fabrics the other day and love, love, love them. I am inspired by this set so would like to use these fabrics to create something similar. My sweet and thoughtful mother in love has volunteered to create this, pink girly masterpiece for baby Sarah Claire's room. So take a look at the fabric if you will, and the pottery barn set and give us some thoughts on how you would make this work as we "think pink!"

Oriental at sunset...
This is my son...Ollie.
And this is his best friend...John.
And this is what happens when two little boys are brought to a beach on a late Saturday afternoon, they play...in the water of course, in the not so warm water...and have the best time of their lives.
And this is a really neat picture...got to use my zoom lens and the lighting was just about perfect.
Yes, we ran away to Oriental this weekend and took some of our best buds. It was so good to be in our favorite coastal spot, we haven't been there since December the sun was warm, the wind was refreshing and location always what the doctor ordered. Yes, Sarah Claire was there, she loved it! Hoping to use my zoom lens on her this week!

sunny days...
enjoying...
the sun and sand...
and sidewalk chalk...hopscotch days here we come!
Tried out the Moby today Sarah Claire seemed to like it a ton. We are learning more and more about our baby girl each day. She is very different than her brother, so funny how different two kids can be. She doesn't like a paci (we've tried 3 different kinds,) doesn't really dig the swing yet, was put on baby zantac yesterday and just simply loves to be snuggled a lot. So we're all still adjusting. Ollie is growing up more and more, I've enjoyed getting to be with him more but man I don't know how his teachers can do it with 16 three year olds all day. We've had a lot of other things going on around here mainly we may or may not have sold our house...more to come on that later. It's been an exciting few weeks. Love any suggestions on how to get SC to learn to love the paci (she is trying really hard to get her fingers/ thumb in but just gets frustrated) and the swing...Ollie LOVED the swing!

Sarah Claire's Birth Day...
I wanted to share a few pics from the big day last week (feels like a month ago already.) Matt and I were not really taking pictures that much, but thankfully Grandma Cheryl did and I borrowed her SD card yesterday and these are some of what I found.
Checking in this week...we are still doing good, still eating a lot, working on sleeping, made some more adjustments last night which made it in my opinion the best night yet...we are remembering however that sleep is optional at this stage in the game. Matt's mom came for a few days this week and was a great help and Grandpa Hank and Uncle Ben stopped by for a little while yesterday. Ollie is getting a bit stir crazy that poor kid is his mother's child alright, must be around people...so he's looking forward to going to school tomorrow. We switched him to part time, so he now goes Mon/Fri from 9-1pm, to give me a bit of a break and rest and keep him in the flow at his school. The pink outfits are flowing in daily it seems and I just want to play dress up and try them all on, but baby girl doesn't much like to get her clothes or diaper changed so we'll have to wait a while on that one.

how sweet it is...
Tradition: grow a baby...grow a beard: have a baby...shave a beard!
Photo shoot in the yard...loving the weather today...feels...almost...like...spring!
Sweet Sarah Claire...love this little thing decked out in pink! We had to go back in for one more weight check this morning, she had gone down a bit on Friday, but don't worry doing feedings every 2 hours helped bring her back up 5 more ounces. We think she might have a bit of reflux because she rumbles a little like a freight train when she sleeps laying down, so we're going to add some books under one side of her bed.
Oh how sweet it is!

3 days old...
Here's the update while things are calm...for a moment...this little guy wins the big brother award...he absolutely loves his Sarah Claire! He calls her baby Sarah most of the time, but mommy from the deep south wants to call her both names of course. He said last night, Mommy I am really glad I have a sister, and often says to her, don't worry it'll be ok, baby Sarah. Side note on the name....Matt's sister's name is Sarah...we just love the name so sweet...first night home Ollie called her baby Aunt Sarah. And then yesterday he asked why she wasn't baby Owen...that's a whole post in itself!
First family photo...don't think this one will win any awards, but it's documentation at least!
First sponge bath this morning, girlfriend, loved the warm water, just like her mommy to love a warm bath. Spiderman enjoyed helping well until he decided the sink sprayer was more fun and then he accidentally sprayed baby sister in the face, oh goodness!
Sarah Claire is such a sweet baby, so very chill so very sleepy, so very hungry and eats so very well. So much to be thankful for! At her checkup yesterday I told our pediatrician everything just felt surreal and she chuckled and said, um call me in a week and a half! P.S. I think she looks like her daddy!
