Nap time...

It's nap time and while these 2 precious babes are sleeping I thought I would give you an update on the Hannam Four!
I've been thinking a lot lately on these days from 3 years ago! Whew, I would say that going from zero to one was much harder than one to two kids, but this time around it's harder and more fun in different ways. The hardest part I think for me thus far is timing. Timing feedings with pre-school, the park, the science center, basically anything that involves Ollie...and struggling to not feel as if I am giving him the shaft...that's been hard. But we're are all adjusting. Sarah Claire is still such a sweetie pie, she still has reflux the Zantac seems to be helping but she still spits up which sometimes feels like a personal failure to me, but I think I am learning that some babies just do that and she's ok...but still frustrating. She does take a paci now, the gerber nuk, but only if she's hungry and can't get what she really wants and it only lasts for about 2-3 minutes. I did get her to nap in the swing yesterday for about an hour, but that hasn't been that big of a deal b/c she really enjoys sleeping in her bed. Speaking of beds...we moved Ollie into the guest bedroom as of 2 weeks ago, into the big high off the ground queen size bed. So far so good...Sarah Claire moved into the crib... and everyone has their own space!
We've all enjoyed kissing these sweet cheeks...Ollie is a really sweet brother, I have loved watching him love on his little sister.
One thing that has been fun is Ollie has all of a sudden learned that he can play in the yard by himself, might sound funny but he hasn't really ever done it thus far. And play he does, which has helped with the whole what does he do thing while I am "playing" with SC. We won't be playing in this yard very much longer as our house is officially under contract. Most of the hurdles to be crossed in selling have been reached and we're set to close at the end of April, Lord willing. We're learning that selling a house is a marathon and not a sprint. We're not exactly sure where we will call home yet (yes still in Greensboro) we've got a couple irons in the fire but no contract on our end...hopefully in the next 2 weeks we will!

We've been blessed by so many friends and family who have fed us, prayed for us, and played with us over the past 4 weeks. My sincere apologies if you've texted, called or facebooked (is that a verb?) and I have not gotten back to you, hopefully I will soon. Ok, well I think that is most of the update...maybe if I'm lucky I can catch a few minutes of rest as well!

You'd think I would proof read it before I commented, but no... sorry for the typos, I spent all day at the zoo and I'm tired!

That 2nd picture of Sarah Claire is almost spitting image of Charlie Lybrand! I think the only things different is that she is wearing pink and has darker hair. LOL!!
So glad to have talked to you yesterday even if it was brief.

Glad to read an update, Whit! I know you're busy and probably very tired when you're not busy... Rachel had reflux and spit up all the time for probably the first six months...she was even on Prevacid...
Glad to hear your house sold and hopefully you'll find a new one very soon as well! I know that doesn't help with the stress of everything else...
I'm wondering how Rachel will adjust to having a new baby in the house and not having my undivided attention as well... Time will tell. Talk to you soon!

Whit,
We always said at our home "one is
none, two is twenty". It just kinda happens like that. I am so sorry you don't have help. Always take naps. All that other stuff will be there when you children are in college. It's best to be a good, rested mom (as much as can be) than do all that other. You deserve a rest. Take it. Love ya,
Mom
